The Sailor Shi-Rei series was designed and hand decorated using the traditional Kaga maki-e style. It depicts the Hou-ou, or Phoenix, one of the Four Chinese Spiritual Dragons. The Hou-ou is the guardian of Virtue and Grace. This KOP is fitted with a 21-kt gold nib and offered in a black lacquered box.
