Description:

The colour of the Sailor MOUKO King of Pen fountain pen is inspired by "Tiger", a masterpiece by Jakuchu Ito. The ochre brown ebonite is carefully formed with spots and a tiger motif, referring to the painting. This King of Pen is equipped with a large, bi-colour 21kt Naginata-Togi nib in NMF. The cap features the Sailor anchor logo, together with a subtly engraved serial number. The Sailor MOUKO comes in a wooden box, complete with an ink bottle, converter and ink cartridge. Only 500 pieces are available worldwide.

Jakuchu Ito (1716 – 1800) was born in Kyoto as the eldest son of a family that traded in wholesale products in Kyoto's Nishiki-koji. Jakuchu devoted himself to both painting and Zen Buddhism.

Jakuchu Ito was an autodidact and was described by those around him as a solitary person. Compared to other painters of the Edo period, his works had little in common with the popular styles of the time. He took the liberty of experimenting with different techniques to develop his own expression. His depictions of poultry are renowned worldwide. Jakuchu Ito left the art world a rich legacy of countless masterpieces, in which his childlike curiosity and creative spirit are fully expressed. His paintings glorify all forms of existence and reveal to the viewer the essence of life.
